Catholic Philosophy

The Philosophy of Christianity is the love of Divine Wisdom. The capacity and the love of investigation are both due to the fact that there is a Spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty given to him to be understanding. The chief teachings of the Catholic church are God’s objective existence; God’s interest in individual human beings, who can enter into relations with God (through prayer), the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus; the immortality of the soul of each human being, each one being accountable at death for his or her actions. St. Thomas Aquinas was the greatest of the Scholastic philosophers. He produced a comprehensive synthesis of Christian theology and Aristotelian philosophy that influenced Roman Catholic doctrine for centuries and was adopted as the official philosophy of the church in 1917.
